Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has found herself at the centre of an online debate after attending the launch of luxury fashion brand Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) at Dolmen Mall in Lahore. While many praised her fashion choice, others criticised her outfit, turning her latest public appearance into a widely discussed topic across social media.
According to ARY News, videos from the high-profile event quickly spread online, showing Hania greeting fans, posing for photographs and interacting with guests. Her appearance drew mixed reactions, with supporters applauding her style and critics questioning whether the outfit reflected Pakistan’s cultural and social values.
For the event, Hania wore an all-black Yves Saint Laurent ensemble featuring a silk ruffled maxi skirt paired with black stockings. She completed the western-inspired look with subtle nude makeup and a sleek wet-hair hairstyle.
As clips from the event circulated, social media users appeared divided. Many fans defended the actress, insisting that fashion is a matter of personal choice. One supporter wrote, “What’s wrong with you all? It’s her choice. Leave her alone. You are always ready to judge someone for their looks.”
Others, however, argued that such fashion choices were inconsistent with Pakistan’s cultural, social and religious values. Several users compared Hania’s style to Indian internet personalities Uorfi Javed and Rakhi Sawant, both known for their unconventional fashion statements. Comments such as, “When you order Uorfi Javed from Daraz,” and “Bad example for our daughters,” were widely shared online.
Some social media users also mentioned Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah, claiming she would have faced even harsher criticism had she worn a similar outfit.
Despite the ongoing discussion and criticism, Hania Aamir has not responded publicly. The actress has generally chosen to stay away from social media controversies and continues to focus on her acting career while maintaining a positive relationship with her fans.
