Qatar Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on his victory in the parliamentary election.
In a congratulatory cable, he conveyed his greetings to Tarique following the party’s success in the recently concluded 13th parliamentary polls.
The message underscores the longstanding ties between Bangladesh and Qatar, particularly in labour cooperation, energy partnership and bilateral trade.
Qatar hosts a large number of Bangladeshi expatriate workers, whose remittances make a significant contribution to the economy.
