Md Siraj Uddin Miah has been appointed as the new cabinet secretary of the interim government.
This has been announced in a statement signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Jeti Pru.
Earlier, the government cancelled the remaining term of Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid’s contractual appointment.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on Saturday revoking the unexpired portion of his contract.
The notification stated that the remaining tenure of Sheikh Abdur Rashid, appointed on a contractual basis as Cabinet Secretary, has been cancelled with immediate effect.
“I do not think contractual appointments are appropriate, so I am stepping aside,” he told TIMES of Bangladesh.
