Two people involved in illegal arms trading were arrested during an operation by joint forces in Chandragonj, Lakshmipur. A foreign pistol and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
The arrestees are Md Imran, of Deopara village in Lakshmipur Sadar, and Md Sajib, a resident of Alyapur union.
Of them, Imran is accused in several cases, including murder and arms charges. The arrestees were handed over to Sadar Police Station.
The raid was conducted on Wednesday night. The army disclosed the information at a press briefing around 2am.
During the raid, the army recovered one foreign pistol, 11 bullets, two magazines, four empty cartridges, four LG firearms, 26 rounds of shotgun ammunition, 53 fireworks, and two cocktails.
