Tanzid Hasan produced a magnificent hundred in the Bangladesh Premier League final, becoming the Bangladeshi batter with the highest number of centuries in BPL history as Rajshahi Warriors piled up a commanding total.
Rajshahi finished on 162 for 2 in 18.3 overs, powered by Tanzid’s third BPL century — a landmark achievement unmatched by any other Bangladeshi player in the tournament.
Opening the innings, Tanzid raced to a half-century in just 21 balls, putting the Chattogram attack under immediate pressure. After reaching fifty, he briefly reduced his tempo and appeared to struggle physically, but showed immense resolve to stay at the crease.
As the innings entered its final phase, Tanzid found another gear. He brought up his century with a single off the third ball of the 19th over, completing a superb knock of 100 off 61 deliveries.
This was Tanzid’s third century in the BPL, the most by any Bangladeshi batter in the competition’s history. Tamim Iqbal, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy are next on the list, each with two centuries.
Tanzid also became only the third batter overall to score a century in a BPL final. The previous instances came from Chris Gayle for Rangpur Riders and Tamim Iqbal for Comilla Victorians.
With this knock, Tanzid has climbed to second place on the all-time BPL centuries list, trailing only Gayle, who leads with five.
