Bangladesh Cricket Board director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim has clarified Mustafizur Rahman’s IPL availability.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Fahim said, “We have given Mustafizur an NOC for the IPL. He will only return to the country during the time of the three ODIs against New Zealand. That period is eight days.”
The statement confirms that Mustafizur will be available for most of the IPL season, with only a brief break for international duty. He is expected to leave the tournament temporarily to play the ODI series against New Zealand before rejoining his IPL side.
The update will come as relief for Kolkata Knight Riders, who signed the left arm pacer for a record 9 crore 20 lakh rupees at the auction. Earlier, there were concerns over his availability due to Bangladesh’s international calendar.
With the schedule now clear, Mustafizur is set to feature in the IPL for Kolkata, missing only a short window to fulfill his national team commitments.
