Fifty students from BRAC University have been selected for the 2025 Millennium Fellowship, a global leadership programme that supports social impact projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This marks the fourth consecutive year of BRAC University’s participation and its largest cohort to date since 2021, when 14 students first joined the initiative.

Jointly run by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Millennium Campus Network (MCN), the fellowship empowers undergraduates to design and execute projects that create measurable community impact.

In 2022, 22 BRAC University students were selected, followed by 26 in 2024. The 2025 class was drawn from over 7,500 campuses across 160 countries, with only 290 institutions from 47 nations chosen to host the 4,000 fellows.

To celebrate the achievement, BRAC University’s Social Impact Lab under the School of General Education hosted a programme on its Merul Badda campus on October 15. The lab will mentor and guide fellows in implementing their projects and scaling sustainable community models.

The selected projects focus on diverse themes such as climate resilience, digital empowerment, menstrual and reproductive health, breast cancer awareness, equitable education, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, creative expression, and civic participation.

Through the fellowship, BRAC University continues to advance key SDGs including good health, quality education, gender equality, decent work, innovation, climate action, and life on land — while promoting peace, justice, and global partnerships through youth leadership and collaboration.
