Two people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a pickup van and an easybike in Gaibandha Sadar upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
The incident took place around 10:30am at Thakurer Dighi intersection under Kholahati union.
The deceased were identified as Farid Mia, 50, easybike driver, and the passenger Rostom Ali, 30.
According to witnesses, Sadar town-bound easybike carrying passengers from Dariyapur Bazar collided head-on with a chicken-laden pickup van coming from the opposite direction.
The driver and one passenger died on the spot, while four other passengers were seriously injured and taken to hospital after being rescued by locals.
The OC said legal proceedings are underway.
