The US Embassy in Dhaka and CodersTrust concluded ‘Great American Treasure Hunt’, a digital campaign marking the 250th anniversary of the United States that attracted more than 1,400 registered users and recorded over 15,000 QR code scans through an interactive web-based game.
Developed by CodersTrust as the embassy’s technology partner, the gamified platform invited participants to explore all 50 US states and learn about the country’s founders by scanning QR codes placed at designated locations across Dhaka, including American flag-themed rickshaws and partner venues, said a press release on Monday.
Participants earned points through the web application to climb a leaderboard, with the top 120 qualifiers advancing to a final in-person trivia competition. The campaign concluded with the final contest on July 9 at Edward M Kennedy (EMK) Center in Dhaka.
Deputy Director of Public Engagement at the US Embassy in Dhaka Richard Bruner said the project combined history, technology and community engagement in an interactive format and praised the collaboration with CodersTrust.
Co-Founder and Global Chairman of CodersTrust Aziz Ahmad said the initiative demonstrated the organisation’s ability to develop digital platforms for institutional partners and described the collaboration with the US Embassy as a significant milestone.
CEO of CodersTrust Bangladesh Md Shamsul Haque said the project showcased the capabilities of the company’s local technology team, while Chief Strategy Officer Mohammad Zaman highlighted the successful development of the platform’s QR code system, user authentication and leaderboard.
According to the organisers, the US Embassy’s Public Diplomacy team commended CodersTrust for its technical expertise, professionalism and timely delivery of the project, which used digital technology to engage participants with American history and culture.
