The 11-party alliance on Sunday staged a protest march and rally in Lalmonirhat-2 constituency, demanding a recount of votes over allegations of rigging and irregularities.
The programme was led by alliance candidate Firoz Haider Lavlu, who contested the seat with the Scales symbol.
The march began in the afternoon from the Girija Shankar School ground in Aditmari and moved through the main streets of the town before returning to the school premises for a rally.
Addressing the gathering, speakers called for a fresh count of ballots from every polling centre in the Aditmari-Kaliganj constituency, alleging that the declared results did not reflect the actual votes cast.
According to unofficial results, BNP candidate Rokon Uddin Babul (Sheaf of Paddy) was declared the winner of the seat, securing 123,946 votes. His nearest challenger, Firoz Haider Lavlu, polled 117,252 votes.
