Bangladesh lost the toss and were asked to field first in the second Test against West Indies at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

There had been speculation over Taijul Islam’s place in the playing XI, with the left-arm spinner potentially facing his first omission from a home Test in more than 11 years. However, Bangladesh have retained him alongside fellow spinners Nayeem Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Bangladesh have made two changes to the XI that lost the first Test in Mirpur. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed returns in place of Shoriful Islam, while Mushfiqur Rahim comes back after recovering from a finger injury. He replaces Mominul Haque, who was ruled out after suffering a concussion in the previous Test.
