The measles situation in the country continues to worsen, with the total death toll surpassing 250.
In the past 24 hours, 11 more people have died, raising fresh concern.
From 15 March to 25 April this year, a total of 209 suspected and 42 confirmed patients have died, taking the overall death toll to 251.
During this period, suspected measles cases have reached 30,607, while 4,460 cases have been confirmed.
According to a press release issued on Saturday by the Integrated Control Centre of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), between 8am on 24 April and 8am on 25 April, 1,058 suspected and 229 confirmed cases were identified nationwide.
During the same period, 11 people died of suspected measles, while no deaths were reported among confirmed cases.
Division-wise data show Dhaka recorded the highest number of infections in the past 24 hours, with 562 suspected cases and 368 hospital admissions.
It also reported the highest number of deaths, with three fatalities. Chattogram recorded five deaths and 133 infections, while two deaths were reported in Sylhet and one in Rajshahi.
The release said that since 15 March, a total of 20,475 suspected patients have been admitted to hospitals, of whom 17,081 have recovered and returned home. In the past 24 hours, 770 new patients were admitted and 554 were discharged.
The DGHS said treatment is ongoing in both public and private hospitals and the situation is being closely monitored, urging the public to remain cautious.
