Actor Zayed Khan is set to perform in Portugal for the first time as part of a concert for the Bangladeshi community in Lisbon.
The Dhallywood actor, a well-known supporter of Argentine football star Lionel Messi, will travel to the home country of Cristiano Ronaldo for the event.
The concert, titled Bangla Live, will be held on 26 July in the Portuguese capital.
Legendary rock musician Mahfuz Anam James, popularly known as James and the frontman of Nagar Baul, will headline the event.
Zayed Khan will also perform on the same stage.
Although he has taken part in programmes abroad before, this will be his first visit to Portugal.
Speaking about the event, the actor said performing in Cristiano Ronaldo’s homeland makes the occasion even more special.
“It is my first time performing in the country of football star Cristiano Ronaldo. The opportunity is truly exciting. I will get to meet Bangladeshi expatriates and showcase our culture and entertainment to them. I am really looking forward to it,” he said.
According to the organisers, the concert will begin at 5pm at Lisboa ao Vivo in Lisbon.
James is expected to perform a number of his best-known songs, including Dukkhini Dukkho Koro Na, Taray Taray, Baba, Ma and Lais Fita Lais.
The organisers said Zayed Khan will add a different dimension to the programme through his stage performance and interaction with the audience.
The event is being organised by Casa do Bangladesh and Notícia Bangla.
The organisers described it as one of the largest Bangla music events held for the Bangladeshi community in Portugal.
They said the concert has already generated strong interest among expatriate Bangladeshis in Lisbon and nearby cities, with extensive promotion continuing on social media.
