Priyanka Chopra Jonas has returned to India with husband Nick Jonas and daughter Malti Marie, sparking speculation that she is set to resume filming SS Rajamouli’s upcoming epic Varanasi, writes Hindustan Times.
The actor landed in India on Sunday before being spotted at Hyderabad Airport, where videos of the family quickly went viral on social media.
Priyanka kept her travel look casual, wearing a dark brown co-ord set featuring an off-shoulder top, paired with a beige cap, black sunglasses and brown flats.
Nick opted for an all-black outfit with chequered sneakers and tinted sunglasses, while little Malti Marie was seen smiling comfortably in her father’s arms as the family exited the airport.
Although Priyanka has not revealed the purpose of her visit, fans believe she has returned to Hyderabad to continue shooting for Varanasi, Rajamouli’s highly anticipated pan-Indian film.
Earlier this month, on 18 July, the filmmakers unveiled Priyanka’s first look as Mandakini to mark her birthday.
Sharing the poster, the makers wrote: “To more adventures… more discoveries… and journeys across every horizon.”
The film marks Priyanka’s return to Indian cinema after an eight-year hiatus, making it one of her most anticipated projects.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, Varanasi stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.
The ambitious adventure blends Indian mythology, folklore, and science fiction, incorporating elements such as time travel into a globe-spanning narrative.
The film is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on 7 April, 2027.
While the production team has yet to confirm Priyanka’s shooting schedule, her arrival in Hyderabad alongside her family has further fuelled anticipation for one of Indian cinema’s biggest upcoming releases.
