IDLC Investments Limited has secured three Euromoney recognitions in 2026, winning Bangladesh’s Best Equity Capital Markets House and Best Debt Capital Markets House at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence, as well as Bangladesh’s Best Islamic Project Finance Deal at the Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards.
The Islamic finance award recognised a Tk1.88 billion green syndicated financing arranged for Akij Bakers Limited, while the capital-market awards reflected IDLC Investments’ work across equity, debt, structured finance, syndication, advisory, underwriting and trustee services, the institution said in a press release issued in Dhaka on 27 July.
In the equity capital market, IDLC Investments managed Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited’s Tk3.03 billion rights issue, described in the release as the only significant public equity issuance in 2025.
The transaction was executed at a premium equivalent to 11,000 per cent of the shares’ face value, setting what the company described as a new benchmark for rights-issue structuring in Bangladesh.
IDLC Investments also expanded its debt-capital-market operations through zero-coupon bonds, subordinated bonds, preference shares, syndicated facilities and Shariah-compliant green financing.
The financing solutions helped corporate and financial-institution clients reduce funding costs, strengthen their balance sheets and secure long-term capital, according to the release.
The award-winning Tk1.88 billion financing for Akij Bakers combined Shariah-compliant funding with Bangladesh Bank’s green refinancing framework. IDLC said the structure demonstrated how Islamic and green financing could support sustainable industrial expansion.
“These recognitions from Euromoney reinforce our long-standing commitment to innovation, market leadership and client-centric execution,” said M Jamal Uddin, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IDLC Finance PLC.
“As Bangladesh’s financial sector continues to evolve, our focus remains on creating sophisticated capital-market solutions that enable businesses to grow sustainably while contributing to the long-term development of the country’s financial ecosystem.”
Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director of IDLC Investments Limited, said the awards reflected the strength of the company’s integrated investment-banking platform and its team’s focus on innovation and execution.
“We are honoured to receive these prestigious recognitions from Euromoney,” he said. “Winning both the Best ECM House and Best DCM House awards, alongside the Best Islamic Project Finance Deal, reflects the strength of our integrated investment banking platform and our team’s relentless pursuit of innovation and execution excellence.”
He said the recognitions would encourage the company to continue setting new benchmarks in Bangladesh’s investment-banking industry.
IDLC Investments said it would remain focused on delivering high-impact capital-market solutions, strengthening market intermediation and supporting the long-term development of Bangladesh’s financial sector.
