NRBC Bank PLC held an orientation programme for its newly recruited Management Trainee Officers at the bank’s head office on Monday, 27 July, focusing on professional discipline, customer service and the protection of depositors’ interests.
Chairman Md Ali Hossain Prodhania inaugurated the programme as chief guest, while Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan FCMA attended as special guest, the bank said in a press release.
Mohammad Abdul Qaium Khan, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, and Md Shaheen Howlader, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer, attended alongside senior bank officials and heads of the relevant divisions.
Prodhania described the newly recruited officers as the bank’s future leaders and urged them to uphold discipline, integrity, professionalism and teamwork from the beginning of their careers.
“Today’s newly recruited officers are the leaders of tomorrow,” he said. “From the outset of their careers, they must uphold discipline, integrity, professionalism and a strong sense of teamwork.”
He said a banker’s foremost responsibility was to protect depositors’ interests while remaining accountable to customers, shareholders, regulators and other stakeholders.
“I am confident that your competence, commitment and sincerity will contribute significantly to strengthening NRBC Bank and taking it to greater heights,” he added.
Touhidul Alam Khan said banking was a service-oriented profession and that delivering quality customer service was every banker’s foremost responsibility.
He emphasised the importance of protecting depositors’ savings and advised the new officers to acquire advanced banking knowledge, uphold accountability and continuously improve their professional competence to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
