Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited United International University’s (UIU) exhibition stall at the BEAR Summit and National Semiconductor Symposium 2026 at the Novo Theatre in Dhaka, where he reviewed the university’s research, technology and commercialisation projects.
During the visit, the prime minister explored the UIU Mars Rover, UIU Rescue Rover and UIU Mariner, alongside several research initiatives aimed at developing practical technologies and commercially viable solutions, the university said in a press release.
The exhibition also featured SmartEndo, Bolte Chai, Smart Autism Barta, BScan and research on brain-computer interfaces.
UIU said the projects demonstrated its growing contribution to research, innovation, technology commercialisation and societal development.
The prime minister expressed interest in the university’s research and innovation initiatives, according to the release.
UIU said the visit and appreciation represented significant recognition of its efforts to transform research into impactful technologies and commercially viable solutions addressing real-world challenges.
