Actress Idhika Paul has become a familiar face in both Bengali film industries, earning recognition in Bangladesh as Shakib Khan’s co-star in ‘Priyotoma’ and in Tollywood alongside actor Dev.

However, the name that audiences know today is not the one she started her career with.

Idhika began her acting journey on television under the name Tumpa Paul. She appeared in serials such as ‘Arabya Rajani’, ‘Kapal Kundala’ and ‘Rimli’, which helped her gain recognition among small-screen viewers.

As her career progressed, she decided to adopt a different name. Seeking something more distinctive for her transition to the big screen, she chose Idhika. The name is associated with Goddess Parvati and is said to mean sacred and beautiful.

Idhika is also linked to upcoming projects, including Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Queen Victoria’ and the detective film ‘Kanai Choran’.

Reports have also suggested that she may star opposite Jeet in a film directed by Pathikrit Basu, although neither actor has officially confirmed the project.
