US President Donald Trump said the United States is negotiating a new agreement with Iran that he claimed would be “far better” than deals reached by previous administrations.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump dismissed the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) signed by Iran and six world powers as “one of the Worst Deals ever made having to do with the Security of our Country.”
He argued the accord was “a guaranteed Road to a Nuclear Weapon” that “will not, and cannot, happen.”
Trump, who withdrew the US from the JCPOA during his first term, further claimed that had the deal remained in place, nuclear weapons would have been used “on Israel, and all over the Middle East.”
