Two young motorcyclists died after their bike collided with a pickup van in Chandpur on Thursday evening.
The accident took place near Bilal Khan Hatchery, in front of Dewanbari, on the northern side of Chandra Chowrasta in Sadar Upazila.
The victims have been identified as Md Ami Dhaly, 18, son of Nazrul Islam Dhaly, and Kishore Chandra Das, 17, son of Kartik Chandra Das—both residents of Ward 3 in Baliya Union. The two were riding the same motorcycle when the crash occurred.
Eyewitnesses said the collision left the teenagers critically injured. They were rushed to Chandpur Government General Hospital, but doctors declared them dead upon arrival.
Bahar Mia, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station, confirmed that autopsies have been completed and legal procedures are being followed. The bodies will be released to their families after necessary formalities.
Authorities are investigating the incident further.
