Twenty-one people, including two leaders of the Student against Discrimination (SAD), have been granted bail in a case. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman passed the order on Sunday.
Mahfuzur Rahman, 25, and Mahid Hasan Rafsan, 26, leaders of SAD leaders in Savar Upazila of Dhaka, were arrested in a drunken state in Gulshan of the capital.
The general registration branch at Gulshan Police Station confirmed the information on Monday. According to the source, the charges brought against the accused were bailable.
The other accused include Siddiqur Rahman Sabbir (20), Parvez Hasan (26), Saidur Islam (20), Mustafa Kamal (25), Shahadat Ahmed (25), Nafizur Rahman Naim (23), Johnny De (35), Mohammad Samad Uddin Robin (35), Aliful Islam Riaz (26), Asadul Islam (27), Abaid Rahman Khan Polok (24), Mohammad Pavel Chowdhury (23), Mohammad Mehedi Hasan (29), Mohammad Raihan Khan (23), Billal Hossain Badon (21), Mohammad Shimul (25), Riyad Mia (28), Soumitra Das (25), and Mohammad Alvi Ahsan Khan (25).
They were arrested by police on September 13 on charges of disturbing peace due to their drunken behaviour in Gulshan.
