A US trade delegation met with Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, special assistant to the chief adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, today at his office in the Secretariat.

During the meeting, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb highlighted the ongoing development activities and investment opportunities in Bangladesh’s information technology sector.

The US delegation praised the Bangladesh government’s progress in digital transformation and expressed optimism about further strengthening mutual cooperation in the future.

The special assistant emphasised the importance of international partnerships in building Bangladesh as a hub for technology and innovation.

During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral trade and investment relations, enhancing cooperation in the information technology and telecommunications sectors, data governance, electronic ID authentication, digital public infrastructure, cloud services, interoperability, digital service ecosystem, personal data protection law, and the potential of the digital economy.

The US trade delegation included Assistant US Trade Representative (South and Central Asia) Brendan Lynch and Director (South Asia) Emily Asby.
