After the clouds of uncertainty that loomed over its original April schedule, the highly anticipated Tri-Nation Indie Fest is set to roar back to life.
Bridging the musical landscapes of Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan, the festival has successfully navigated administrative hurdles to announce its return with a new date and a renewed sense of excitement.
The melodic union is now scheduled to take place on 8 May at the Courtside venue, located at 100 Feet Madani Avenue in the capital.
Organisers confirmed that the event was rescheduled for the second week of May after securing the necessary permissions from the relevant authorities. To accommodate the influx of fans, gates will open at 3:00 PM, with the main performances commencing at 6pm.
The festival features a stellar lineup of regional indie talent. Pakistan’s acclaimed singer Abdul Hannan and the band Bayan are set to travel to Dhaka for the event.
They will be joined by the popular Indian duo Talpatar Shepai, while the home crowd will be represented by the Bangladeshi band Level Five.
Tickets for the festival are available through the online platform Tickify. While sales had initially begun earlier, the process was briefly suspended due to the administrative complexities that had delayed the concert.
The revival of the Indie Fest offers a significant moment of relief for Dhaka’s music enthusiasts.
The local concert scene has recently faced several setbacks; late last year, planned events featuring Pakistan’s Jal, Kaavish, Atif Aslam, and Ali Azmat, as well as India’s Anuv Jain, were cancelled due to security concerns.
Notably, Atif Aslam and Ali Azmat had even arrived in Dhaka but were ultimately unable to perform for their ticket-holding fans.
With the Tri-Nation Indie Fest now back on track, the stage is finally set for a grand celebration of cross-border harmony.
