Popular singer Asif Akbar and composer Rajesh Ghosh have reunited for a new song after an eight-year break.
The duo have been associated with several popular Bangla songs over the years, with Asif lending his voice to numerous tracks composed by Rajesh. Their latest song was recorded on 19 September, marking their first collaboration since 2018.
Rajesh announced the recording on social media but said he was not ready to reveal details of the project yet.
“The last time I worked with Asif bhai was in 2018. After eight years, we have worked together again. This is a song for a special project. I will be able to share more details once the entire project is completed,” Rajesh said.
He also spoke about his long-standing relationship with Asif, describing their professional partnership as one built on mutual respect and affection.
The new song features lyrics and composition by Rajesh Ghosh, while Mushfiq Litu has arranged the music. Dhruva Music Station will release the track.
News of their reunion has already generated excitement among fans, who are looking forward to hearing the pair together again. However, listeners will have to wait a little longer for the song’s release.
Rajesh and Asif began working together in the early 2000s, about a year after they first met. Songs written by lyricist Pradip Saha and composed by Rajesh, with Asif on vocals, went on to gain popularity among listeners.
Their notable collaborations include ‘Ekaki Gobhir Rate’, ‘O Pashani’, ‘Biday Bondhu’, ‘Bachbo Na’, ‘Megher Meghe’, ‘Jhor Uthechhe’, ‘Kokhono Kokhono Ichcher Bair eo’ and ‘Dana Bhanga Pakhir Moto’.
After eight years, the familiar musical partnership is once again set to return with a new song, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its release.
