The dispute between actress Tanjin Tisha and producer Sharif Khan over the Kolkata film ‘Bhalobasar Morshum’ is set to move to court. The Indian producer has announced plans to file a case against Tisha, alleging embezzlement, schedule changes and false claims.

The controversy began when Tisha withdrew from the film after receiving an advance of around Tk4.5 lakh. In a Facebook post, she claimed that Sharif Khan was not the main producer but a line producer and that she could not proceed due to visa issues. Khan, however, countered that Tisha repeatedly postponed the schedule citing her commitment to Shakib Khan’s Soldier and had undertaken responsibility for securing her visa herself.

The TIMES of Bangladesh obtained a recording and screenshot of a conversation between Tisha and Khan. In the audio, Tisha is clearly heard requesting a postponement of the Kolkata shoot due to Soldier, while stating that she would handle the visa arrangements, contradicting her earlier statements.

Sharif Khan has also provided the contract with Tisha, which shows him signed as the producer, not a line producer.

Speaking to TIMES on Wednesday (26 November), Khan said, “I have been very patient. I politely asked for my money back, but she is lying. My patience has run out. I am now taking the legal route.”

The producer confirmed that the forthcoming case will cover breach of contract, financial losses and defamation. He added that the project suffered economically after the schedule was changed twice.

“It was difficult to secure a visa slot. We fixed it, but she did not turn up and is now blaming me,” he said. The visa booking was handled through an agency in Bangladesh, which retains all records, he added.

Tisha had previously claimed that Khan had been unprofessional by calling her at odd hours. Khan refuted this, showing call logs and messages demonstrating that Tisha had initiated most communications.

Actor Khairul Basar, who was also cast in the film, reportedly returned his advance immediately after withdrawing from the project.

When contacted for comment, Tisha said she had addressed the matter during a live show and in her social media post. Regarding claims that she left the film because of Soldier, she said, “I waited for two months, October to November. They couldn’t arrange the visa. I joined the cast of ‘Soldier’ much later, after someone else had already shot with me.”
