Two photographers from TIMES of Bangladesh have secured four awards at the Bangladesh Press Photo Contest 2026, organised by Drik for the fifth time.

Out of a total of seven awards presented across three categories, four were won by photographers representing this newspaper. Md Mazharul Islam, a freelance photographer for TIMES, received two awards in the Public Interest in Journalism and Politics categories.

Md Mahmud Zaman Ovi, chief photographer at the organisation, also earned two accolades, receiving recognition in the Public Interest in Journalism category and an Honourable Mention in the Politics category.

The annual competition was open to professional photographers residing in Bangladesh and accepted both published and unpublished photographs taken within the country between 1 January and 31 December 2025.

In addition to honouring the winners, the organisers plan to exhibit 30 selected photographs in Dhaka in July 2026. This recognition underscores the continued contribution of TIMES of Bangladesh to visual journalism in the country through impactful and compelling photojournalism.
