TikTok, in partnership with the Government of Bangladesh, has introduced the STEM Feed, a dedicated in-app platform designed to provide accessible and credible science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) content. The initiative aims to improve the way educational resources are shared and accessed in Bangladesh.
The announcement event brought together government officials, TikTok representatives, education leaders, and content creators. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Adviser to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, attended as a special guest. Discussions focused on how digital technology can help bridge the educational gap between urban and rural areas, where infrastructure and resource limitations often hinder learning.
The STEM Feed will offer a curated stream of verified STEM content, ensuring students across Bangladesh can access quality educational materials. Additionally, TikTok introduced the hashtag #STEMTok, where local-language STEM content from creators, partners, and publishers will be featured.
Key discussions at the event highlighted how the platform aligns with the government’s goals for expanding digital education, with an emphasis on inclusion, teacher support, and safe-use standards. Practical examples were shared to demonstrate how the platform can be used responsibly by educators and students.
Adviser Farooki stated, “Bangladesh’s youth are naturally creative. By providing credible STEM content, we can enhance education and foster a culture of problem-solving.”
Ferdous Mottakin, Head of Public Policy & Government Relations for South Asia at TikTok, noted, “STEM Feed is an important step in making education more accessible and engaging, supporting national goals for digital inclusion and youth empowerment.”
TikTok also highlighted its commitment to user safety, with features such as Family Pairing, Time-Away Scheduling, and Proactive Reporting Alerts designed to support healthy digital habits.
The launch of the STEM Feed represents a key step in Bangladesh’s digital education journey, bringing together the government, industry, and young creators to expand learning opportunities and inspire innovation.
