The Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by thunder in country’s two divisions – Chattogram and Sylhet, while the rest of Bangladesh is expected to experience partly cloudy skies.
According to the Met Office, the well-marked low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining southeastern region of Bangladesh has gradually weakened into a low and become insignificant as it moved north-northwestward.
Meanwhile, the seasonal low lies over the South Bay, with its extension stretching towards the North Bay.
Under these conditions, the department predicted that till 6pm on Friday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur in a few places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Elsewhere across the country, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. Light rain or thundershowers may continue in parts of the Chattogram division over the next 24 hours.
The Met Office further stated that no rainfall is expected anywhere in the country from Saturday onward.
However, both day and night temperatures are likely to fall slightly in the coming days. During this period, light to moderate fog may form over different parts of the country from midnight to early morning.
