Actress Nutan developed a passion for singing, dancing and acting from an early age. She was particularly fascinated by Sujata’s performance in Rupban and Kabori’s acting and beauty after watching Sat Bhai Champa.
Her admiration for Kabori became so intense that she desperately wanted to buy a sari similar to the one Kabori wore in a song from Sat Bhai Champa. She eventually bought the sari for just Tk7 at the time.
Nutan revealed these and many other untold stories while appearing on the popular podcast Behind the Fame with RRK.
The special episode will air simultaneously on Machranga Television and Radio Din Raat 93.6 FM on Saturday, 12 September, at 9pm. The programme is hosted by Rumman Rashid Khan.
During the podcast, Nutan recalled her years as one of the most prominent actresses in folk-fantasy films.
She appeared in numerous snake-themed movies, with Rajmahal being her first film in the genre. While shooting a scene in which she had to hold two snakes, she accidentally strangled and killed both of them.
Nutan also revealed that late filmmaker Ehtesham once offered her a role in Pich Dhala Poth. She turned down the offer at the time.
She later entered the film industry as actress Nutan through Notun Provat.
Behind the Fame with RRK is produced by Z I Faisal.
