Three people, including two motorcyclists and a pedestrian, were killed in separate road accidents in Chattogram on Wednesday night.
Police said the accidents occurred in the Halishahar area on the Faujdarhat–Port Link Road and near Akmal Ali Point in the port area.
The victims were identified as Shahriar Aziz Anik, 26, Md Sohan, 25, and Shahjahan, 48, rewports UNB.
Halishahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Zakir Hossain said around 11:30pm, a motorcycle skidded off the rain-slicked Faujdarhat Toll Road near Chittagong Filling Station and rammed into another vehicle from behind.
Both Shahriar and Sohan died on the spot. Their bodies were later sent to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue, the OC said.
In a separate incident, pedestrian Shahjahan was fatally hit by a speeding motorcycle on Ring Road near Akmal Ali Link Road under EPZ Police Station.
Police said he was walking along the roadside when the motorcycle struck him, leaving him critically injured. He died on the way to hospital.
The motorcyclist fled the scene, abandoning the bike, which police later seized.
