Bangladesh batter Parvez Hossain Emon has reflected on his first experience of playing overseas franchise cricket, saying the Pakistan Super League taught him a lot about professionalism and high performance environments.
The left handed opener represented Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2026. Although an injury cut his campaign short, Emon said the tournament left a lasting impression on him.
“PSL was my first tournament outside the country.”
He said, “What impressed me the most was the environment and the level of professionalism. I found some form with the bat towards the end, but unfortunately I couldn’t finish the tournament because of injury. Even then, the team owner and Shaheen Afridi were very supportive throughout.”
Emon featured in three matches during the season. He scored 71 runs at an average of 23.67 and a strike rate of 161.36. His highest score was 45. He also struck seven sixes and two fours before his injury brought an early end to his tournament.
The 23 year old also spoke about the atmosphere inside the Bangladesh dressing room. According to Emon, the relationship between senior and junior players has become much closer than before.
“Our Bangladesh team has now become like this, we are all like friends in the dressing room, there is not that much distance with the seniors. Everyone shares everything with everyone. We have such a relationship with the coaches too.”
Emon believes the strong bond within the squad has helped create a healthy team environment. He said players freely exchange ideas and experiences, while the coaching staff maintain close connections with the cricketers.
The opener has become a regular face in Bangladesh’s white ball setup over the last few years. His PSL experience gave him a chance to learn from international stars and adapt to a different cricket culture.
While injury prevented him from completing the tournament, Emon’s performances showed promise.
