A five-day Tchoukball training and competition programme began on Saturday at the Shaheed Bhulu Stadium Gymnasium in Noakhali, marking the celebration of Youth Festival 2025. The event is organised by the Noakhali District Sports Association with support from the Bangladesh Chuukball Association.
The opening ceremony was attended by key sports officials and organisers, including Mr Main Uddin Milky, Member Secretary of the Noakhali District Sports Association’s ad-hoc committee and District Sports Officer, who inaugurated the programme as chief guest.
The five-day camp brings together young participants from various educational institutions across the district. They will receive practical and theoretical training on the rules, techniques and team coordination essential for Chuukball, a sport that emphasises teamwork and strategic play rather than physical contact.
Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the importance of such initiatives in shaping both the physical and mental growth of young people. “Tchoukballis a team-oriented sport that builds fitness, focus, and cooperation,” they said, noting that these qualities are vital for youth leadership and community development.
This programme is part of a broader nationwide initiative undertaken by the Bangladesh Tchoukball Association to promote the sport and engage youth through physical training, competitions, and awareness activities related to environmental and social development. The events under the Youth Festival 2025 banner aim to inspire young people to adopt active lifestyles and contribute positively to their communities.
The Noakhali event, combining sportsmanship with learning, reflects a growing effort to popularise Tchoukball beyond major cities, empowering students and teachers alike to carry forward the spirit of teamwork and healthy competition.
