Leaders and activists of Dhaka University Chhatra Dal gathered near the TSC in anticipation of his arrival. Chhatra Dal President Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahas and General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon, along with other student leaders, were stationed near the Raju Sculpture.

Security was significantly heightened for the visit, with two layers of barricades and police personnel deployed from TSC to Hadi’s grave, and an additional barricade set up in the Shahbagh direction.

Chhatra Dal activist Sajid said, “We are here to welcome Tarique Rahman, the future leader of Bangladesh.”

His planned visit to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), popularly known as Pangu Hospital, was canceled as there are currently no patients from the July uprising.
