Tanjin Tisha has made a name for herself in television dramas with her glamour and acting skills and has also found success on OTT platforms. She recently signed up for a film opposite Shakib Khan titled ‘Soldier’.
However, Tisha’s career has been shadowed by a series of controversies.
In 2017, Habib Wahid’s ex-wife, Rehan Chowdhury, accused Tisha and actress/model Peya Bipasha of contributing to the breakdown of her marriage, claiming Tisha bore the greatest responsibility. A phone conversation between Rehan and Tisha also went viral.
Tisha later attracted attention for her relationships with TV actor Mushfiq R Farhan, revealed via a video on her Facebook story. Last year, rumours circulated that she had secretly married and had children, which Tisha denied, clarifying that the children were relatives.
In November 2023, Tisha allegedly misbehaved with Channel 24 reporter Mazharul Islam and subsequently approached the then DB chief, Harun, over claims of cyberbullying. This sparked protests from entertainment journalists, who boycotted her news coverage.
Around the same time, Kolkata-based producer Sharif Khan claimed Tisha took Tk4.5 lakhs in advance for the film ‘Bhalobashar Morshum’ but did not provide a shooting schedule or return the money. Tisha responded that Sharif Khan was a line producer, not the main producer, and that delays were due to visa issues and her commitment to Soldier.
In a separate incident, Jhinuk, the head of the online fashion page ‘Aponia’, alleged that Tisha failed to pay for a saree worth Tk28,800 despite a promotional agreement. Tisha responded that the saree had been a gift, but the company filed a case for fraud and breach of trust.
Most recently, co-star Samia Othoi accused Tisha of assault on the set of Rafat Majumder Rinku’s drama. During a Facebook live on March 3, Othoi claimed that Tisha went beyond the script during a slap scene, pinching and slapping her, leaving her hand bleeding, and allegedly hitting her in the eyes and face in a subsequent shoot.
Othoi also said that Tisha had behaved disrespectfully when presenting a gift related to her new film on March 2 and had previously threatened him and other colleagues over the phone.
Tisha has denied the allegations, stating, “What happened on set was entirely part of my character, who plays a special child. I cannot beat, bite, or drown anyone outside of my role. Once the work is released, the audience will see the context of my actions.” Her comments have sparked further controversy on social media.
Social activist Sudipta Biswas Bibhu has demanded either an apology from Tisha or evidence to support her statement.
