The Election Commission (EC) has warned that it will take stern action if any evidence of vote-buying and selling is discovered.
In a press release issued on Wednesday night, the commission noted that a political party has alleged that vote trading is taking place in various parts of the country.
Addressing the matter, the Election Commission stated that vote-buying is a legally punishable offence.
The EC further maintained that if any involvement is found regarding these allegations, strict measures will be taken against those responsible.
