Shakib Khan is stepping into darker territory with his upcoming film ‘Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka’, as the makers unveiled a striking motion poster on Sunday evening. The action drama is slated for a theatrical release during Eid-ul-Fitr.
The brief first-look video introduces Khan in a brooding, gangster-inspired role, signalling a shift towards a more intense screen persona. Sporting a full beard, long hair, sunglasses and a sweeping black coat, the actor is seen wielding a stylised musical gun and aiming it skywards at a helicopter.
The imagery points to a story driven by dominance, spectacle and power.
Production house Creative Land Films shared the motion poster on social media with the tagline, “He doesn’t chase power; power follows him,” positioning the film as a larger-than-life tale. Shakib Khan echoed the sentiment on his own Facebook page, teasing the arrival of a character portrayed as both feared and legendary.
Directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud, Prince is set against a stylised 1990s backdrop and promises a blend of action and romance. According to the filmmakers, the unusual musical weapon featured in the poster symbolises the film’s attempt to balance violence with emotion.
The film stars Tasnia Farin opposite Khan, while Indian actress Jyotirmoyee Kundu appears in a key role. The supporting cast includes Nasir Uddin Khan, Ejajul Islam and Entekhab Dinar.
Filming has been completed across locations in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, with post-production currently under way as anticipation builds ahead of its Eid release.
