Production on Shakib Khan’s forthcoming film ‘Rockstar’ is now underway, with cameras rolling from Tuesday (March 24) in Malaysia, where the first leg of filming is taking place.

The project, helmed by director Azman Rusho, is being mounted on an ambitious scale, with multiple sequences planned across international locations. The overseas schedule is expected to play a key role in shaping the film’s visual identity.

Industry insiders indicate that the team is aiming to position Rockstar as a stylistically distinct venture, with emphasis on polished visuals and a contemporary narrative treatment. The production is also set to showcase a reimagined on-screen persona for Shakib Khan, aligning with the film’s modern aesthetic.

The screenplay has been written by Ayman Asib Shadhin, who is part of a new wave of writers contributing to evolving storytelling trends in the industry.

Casting for the film includes two female leads. Tangia Zaman Methila has been confirmed for one of the roles, while the lead heroine is yet to be officially announced.

The project comes at a time when Shakib Khan remains in the spotlight over multiple high-profile releases, further heightening anticipation around Rockstar ahead of its planned Eid-ul-Azha debut.
