Dhallywood star Shakib Khan has spoken candidly about the technical problems in his latest Eid release, ‘Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka’, acknowledging that sound and colour grading issues have affected the audience experience.
At a special screening and press conference at Star Cineplex Centrepoint on March 31, Shakib explained that production setbacks and tight schedules contributed to the film’s shortcomings. Director Abu Hayat Mahmud, producer Shirin Sultana and co-stars Tasnia Farin and Jyotirmoyee Kundu were present.
Shakib expressed regret on behalf of the entire team, saying, “We faced unavoidable delays that prevented us from delivering the film exactly as planned. From permission issues to relocating sets, our timeline was severely compressed. Many flaws remained due to a lack of time.”
He emphasised that audience feedback is important to him. “The technical aspects, particularly colour grading and final finishing, needed more time. We will ensure future projects meet higher standards.”
Despite the challenges, Prince gradually found its footing in cinemas. “The initial screenings were limited, but later we secured 22 shows, showing the support and patience of our audience,” Shakib added.
The actor also highlighted his careful script selection process, noting that he reviews dozens of stories annually to identify the right projects.
Shakib Khan further reassured fans that lessons from Prince would inform his future choices, aiming to deliver films that fully meet expectations.
