Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC (SIBPLC) and the National Pension Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate registration and subscription collection for the Universal Pension Scheme.

The signing ceremony was held at the Finance Division conference room of the Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday, enabling the bank to collect pension instalments through its digital and branch banking channels, according to a media release.

Finance Division Secretary Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder attended the signing ceremony, where National Pension Authority Executive Chairman Md Mahiuddin Khan and Shahjalal Islami Bank Managing Director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed signed the agreement on behalf of their organisations.

Under the MoU, Shahjalal Islami Bank will integrate its banking systems, including API support, to ensure smooth registration and subscription transactions for pension holders enrolled in the Universal Pension Scheme.

The partnership aims to strengthen digital pension services and expand access for subscribers nationwide, officials said.
