Rangpur Riders kicked off their training on Sunday ahead of the 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), with pacer Nahid Rana leading the charge with confidence. Speaking after the session, Nahid said, “I will try to help the team according to my ability, and I know what my strengths are,” reflecting his self-belief ahead of the tournament.
Training began at Bashundhara Sports City at 2:00 pm, with Nurul Hasan Sohan, Litton Das, Rakibul Hasan and others joining the session. After a warm-up football game, the players moved into intensive net practice, with Litton, Sohan and Towhid Hridoy batting in separate nets.
Although the wickets were batting-friendly, Nahid stood out with his express pace. He revealed that he is adding new variations, including yorkers and slower deliveries, to his bowling arsenal. During the nets, he tested Hridoy and Litton with these new deliveries, showing his intent to be more versatile this season.
Nahid represented Rangpur in last season’s BPL and was retained from this year’s auction. He impressed fans and opponents alike with his bursts of pace, and he hopes to maintain that consistency while introducing his new skills. “I will try to maintain consistency. And the new skills I have been working on, I will try to deliver those in this BPL as well,” he said.
