The Supreme Court has announced that both its High Court and Appellate Division will remain closed from 25 to 31 May on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Adha.
The information was communicated through a notification issued by the Administration Branch of the High Court Division on Sunday, 17 May, and published on the Supreme Court’s website on Monday.
According to the notice, official work in both divisions will continue on 23 and 24 May. The notification was signed by Supreme Court Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee.
The announcement follows a recent government directive from the Ministry of Public Administration declaring nationwide holidays for all government, semi-government, autonomous, semi-autonomous, and private offices from 25 to 31 May in observance of Eid-ul-Adha, while offices will remain open on 23 and 24 May.
The decision on the functioning of courts, however, rests with the Supreme Court.
