A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of income tax documents belonging to former Rajshahi‑4 lawmaker Enamul Haque and his wife Tahura Haque.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order following a petition from the Anti‑Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday. The court’s Bench Assistant Md Riaz Hossain confirmed the matter.

ACC Assistant Director Minhaj Bin Islam filed the petition seeking permission to seize their tax records, he said.

The application stated that for proper investigation, it was essential to confiscate the original tax files of Enamul and Tahura Haque including permanent and miscellaneous sections covering fiscal years 2008‑2009 through 2024‑2025.

After hearing, the court granted the request.

On 29 April last year, the ACC filed a case against Enamul, and on 30 April, a separate case against his wife.

Case details state Enamul acquired assets worth Tk18 crore inconsistent with his known income sources. Between 14 August 2007 and 24 December 2024, he and his institutions deposited Tk1,120.15 crore and withdrew Tk1,119 crore in 22 bank accounts, amounting to suspicious transactions totaling Tk2,239.15 crore.

Tahura, with her husband’s assistance, allegedly acquired assets worth Tk7.95 crore beyond known income sources.

Evidence also shows suspicious transactions of Tk3.40 crore in two bank accounts under her name between 2020 and 2024.
