Aditya Dhar’s spy thrillers ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ continue to dominate the box office, with Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan and newcomer Sara Arjun earned praise for their performances.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed why Sara was selected for the role of Yalina. “Many actresses were messaging Aditya saying they wanted to be cast opposite Ranveer. I was getting messages as well. But we wanted a face that felt authentic to that world, without any previous baggage,” he explained.
Although Sara had appeared as a child actor, she had not played a full-fledged role in Bollywood. “We held over 1,200 auditions and finally auditioned Sara. We were craving a completely fresh face,” he added.
In the film, Sara plays Yalina, the daughter of politician Jameel Jamali, who falls in love with and marries Ranveer Singh’s character.
The sequel explores the growing tensions in their relationship as Yalina discovers the truth about his identity. The cast also includes Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and others in key roles.
