The song ‘Kajra Re’ from the 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli remains popular with audiences more than two decades after its release. The song featured Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan together.
In a recent interview with BBC Asian Network, Abhishek expressed interest in creating a new version of the iconic song.
“I would definitely love to do it. But I would have to convince Aishwarya and my father,” he said.
Abhishek also recalled the fun-filled shoot for ‘Kajra Re’, saying his birthday was celebrated on the sets.
According to him, director Shaad Ali played the song for nearly four hours and allowed everyone to dance freely. The cameras captured those moments, which were later used in the music video.
Abhishek said ‘Kajra Re’ has now achieved cult status and remains one of his fondest memories.
In Bunty Aur Babli, Abhishek and Rani Mukerji played two con artists, while Amitabh portrayed the police officer pursuing them.
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the song, with vocals by Alisha Chinai, Shankar Mahadevan and Javed Ali. Vaibhavi Merchant choreographed it.
