Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri and the directors of Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited have been summoned by a Chandigarh court in connection with an alleged cheating case involving a Being Human jewellery showroom, writes Hindustan Times.
According to reports, the court has directed all the accused to appear on October 5 in connection with the complaint filed by Chandigarh-based businessman Arun Gupta.
The case stems from allegations that Gupta was induced into opening a Being Human jewellery showroom in Manimajra after being promised a profitable business venture.
He claims to have invested nearly ₹3 crore after signing an agreement with Style and Content Jewellery Pvt Ltd, the company licensed to market and sell Being Human-branded jewellery.
According to the complaint, around ₹1 crore was spent on setting up the showroom, with Gupta claiming he fulfilled all the contractual obligations required under the agreement.
However, he alleged that the company later failed to provide the promised business support, resulting in significant financial losses.
One of the key allegations concerns the closure of the company’s jewellery supply operations from February 2020, which Gupta claims disrupted inventory and left the showroom without a regular supply of products.
He has accused six individuals associated with the company of misrepresenting the business arrangement and misleading him before he invested in the venture.
Gupta also alleged that he was assured Salman Khan would personally inaugurate the showroom.
However, the launch was instead attended by actor Aayush Sharma, Salman Khan’s brother-in-law.
Style and Content Jewellery Pvt Ltd has previously denied the allegations. In its defence, the company maintained that Salman Khan had no direct involvement in the business agreement signed with the complainant.
According to the company’s earlier clarification, the Being Human Foundation licensed the Being Human brand name to Style and Content Jewellery Pvt Ltd in 2015.
It stated that the management, operations and sale of Being Human jewellery were handled exclusively by the company, and not by Salman Khan personally.
The matter is now scheduled to be heard on 5 October, when Salman Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and the other accused have been directed to appear before the Chandigarh court and respond to the allegations.
Neither Salman Khan nor Alvira Khan Agnihotri has publicly commented on the latest court summons.
The allegations remain under judicial consideration, and no findings of guilt have been made at this stage.
