Runa Khan is set to play a police officer for the first time in upcoming psychological thriller short film ‘Roktochaya’. Directed by Ali Zulfikar Zahedi, the movie has wrapped up shooting. Roktochaya is currently eyeing international festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival.
Roktochaya’s plot examines discrimination against women and highlights resilience intelligence and authority in contemporary society through tense narrative.
Runa Khan portrays Shivana Nasrin, a principled outspoken officer tasked with restoring order amid rising urban crimes. For her, the role reflects realities where women leaders face constant questioning of competence and credibility within public institutions.
Produced by Adrian Productions, the film co-stars Aman Reza, Rafah Nanjeba Torsa, Nokshi Tabassum and Affan Mitul among others.
Runa Khan has also joined Zahedi’s upcoming feature ‘Chalachitra: The Cinema’, exploring lives shaped by Bangladesh’s film industry.
