Rumeen Farhana, Independent candidate in the Brahmanbaria-2 constituency, will contest the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election with ‘Duck’ as her electoral symbol.

The symbol was formally allocated on Wednesday at the office of the Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer in Brahmanbaria during the distribution of election symbols among candidates.

Reacting to the allocation, Rumeen Farhana expressed enthusiasm and gratitude, describing the symbol as one closely associated with her supporters.

Speaking to journalists, she said her voters and activists were the driving force behind her political journey.
“This symbol belongs to my voters; it is their symbol, not mine alone,” she said.

Referring to a personal experience, she recalled taking legal action after ducks she had raised were stolen. Drawing a parallel, she warned that any attempt to misuse or “steal” her election symbol would be dealt with through proper legal measures.

Describing herself as a representative of ordinary people, Rumeen Farhana said she would work in line with the wishes of the voters of Brahmanbaria-2 if elected.

“I will carry out development in the constituency exactly as the people want,” she added.

A total of 48 candidates contesting six parliamentary seats in Brahmanbaria district have been allocated election symbols.

With the completion of the symbol distribution process, the election campaign in the district is set to formally begin on Thursday.
