Education Adviser Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar has described the NWPGCL BUET ROBO Carnival 2026 as a timely and powerful platform to shape the country’s future development.
He made the remark at the inauguration of NWPGCL BUET ROBO Carnival 2026 event at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Abrar said “The world is now in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, big data, IoT, and automation are rapidly transforming the global economy and society.”
He emphasised “Education should go beyond awarding degrees, focusing instead on producing skilled, innovative, and technology-aware human resources.”
He noted that the Robo Carnival would nurture students’ creativity and research capabilities, while effectively bridging the gap between academic research and industrial applications. He praised the collaboration between a world-class institution like BUET and a key state-owned enterprise such as NWPGCL (North-West Power Generation Company Limited), calling it a unique and exemplary initiative.
Referring to the seminar theme, “AI-Enabled Robotics for Future Energy and Power Systems”, Abrar said “Artificial intelligence and robotics could enhance efficiency, strengthen safety, and ensure sustainable development in the energy and power sector.”
He stressed the need to reduce dependency on foreign technology and foster national self-reliance through local research, innovation, and technology development. To achieve this, he underlined, strong and effective collaboration among students, teachers, researchers, and industry is essential.
Adviser Abrar expressed hope that the NWPGCL BUET ROBO Carnival 2026 would inspire future engineers, scientists, and innovators, enabling the next generation to lead Bangladesh forward through technology. He concluded by thanking everyone involved in the event and wishing the carnival overall success.
