At least three people were killed and another injured in a road accident in Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj early on Friday.
The accident occurred around 7am on the Sirajganj-Enayetpur road in the Azugra area.
The deceased were identified as Motaleb Sarker and his wife Fazila Khatun, residents of Azugra village, and auto-rickshaw driver Md Nuru, also from the same village. Their daughter Tamanna Khatun sustained injuries in the collision.
Belkuchi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zafar Imam said a passenger auto-rickshaw lost control when its axle broke while travelling through Meghulla.
A Dhaka Express bus coming from the opposite direction collided with the auto, killing the couple and the driver instantly. The injured girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police recovered the bodies and are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
