In a country where the Shaheed Minar stands as a symbol of sacrifice and linguistic pride, one young traveller decided to trace its presence across every corner of Bangladesh. Md Shahedul Alam Faisal has accomplished a rare feat by photographing the Shaheed Minar in all 64 districts of the country.

Born in 1992 in Chattogram, Faisal developed a passion for travel during his student years. What began as a love for riding cycles gradually turned into a deeper mission.
In 2023, he set himself an ambitious goal: to ride across Bangladesh and document each district’s Shaheed Minar, not as a tourist ticking off destinations, but as a storyteller preserving history through his lens.
Unlike many riders who rush to complete their journeys, Faisal chose a slower path. In every district, he paused before the Shaheed Minar, capturing its design, surroundings and silent dignity. Each photograph reflects not just architecture, but the local interpretation of a national memory rooted in the Language Movement.
Supported by family, friends and well-wishers, his journey became more than a personal achievement. It turned into a tribute, a visual archive connecting 64 districts through one shared symbol of sacrifice. Through his camera, Faisal reminds us that the spirit of Ekushey lives far beyond Dhaka, standing tall in every district of Bangladesh.
